Heartfelt Counseling Ministries (HCM) is a ministry to the mentally ill and their families. It provides comfort, support, and guidance to those suffering from mental illness and bereavement and their loved ones.

Heartfelt is an officially recognized 501(c)3 non-profit corporation. Through donations, Heartfelt is able to provide counseling services at a reduced rate to clients who are unable to afford more expensive care. It provides education and training for people interested in learning how to work with the mentally ill, as well as grief counseling for people who have suffered the loss of loved ones.

The Heartfelt Story

Heartfelt Ministries was birthed from tragedy. Through the life-altering experiences of losing his pregnant daughter to a tragic car accident in 2001 and through a personal battle with clinical depression, Steve Bloem, the lead counselor at Heartfelt, has personally been through some of the darkest days.

These experiences, and the hope that he found in Jesus through this, led him to begin Heartfelt Counseling Ministries as a way to powerfully minister to the hurting and marginalized. Steve grew to understand that the church as a whole could do a much better job relating to persons with mental illness.
